The Balance Disc can be used for weight-bearing exercises, balance training, and core training for performance dogs. It has two training surfaces to ensure that your pet is comfortable and challenged at the same time, one side is smooth while the other has nubs to increase sensory stimulation and grip if needed. Since the Balance Disc is an inflatable balance tool, any micro-movements your pet makes will force them to engage their mind and muscles to maintain their balance.
FitPAWS products have been designed specifically for dogs and are trusted by thousands of fitness and rehabilitation professionals, clinics, training facilities, and pet parents. FitPAWS strives to help strengthen muscles, increase range of motion and flexibility, engage neuromuscular facilitation, provide sensory and perceptual stimulation, joint alignment and balance control in all types of pets. Whether your pet is involved in sporting activities or just a house-pet, core strength is necessary for your dog to control its body during movements like running, jumping, and turning. Fitness Training is also a great way to help prevent injuries!
INFLATION
For best performance, you should be able to depress the surface easily, approximately 2” with your fingertips, soft to the touch. Any inflatable that is stretched too tight has the potential to burst. Please pay attention to the surface tension of the products. If it is too tight to the touch, reduce the air and let the product sit for 24 hours before using.
Please note that maximum sizes noted are ONLY a guideline. If the products, for any reason, appear to be too tight and do not inflate to maximum height, or are hard to the touch, then STOP - DO NOT inflate further. Release air and allow the product to sit overnight before use. Actual sizes slightly vary.
Ensure your dog is healthy to begin exercise. Consult your canine health professional before beginning this or any exercise program.
Always check for proper body alignment while performing exercises. Watch to ensure back and neck are neutral. Front limbs and hind limbs should support weight safely. Avoid over extension of limbs, neck, and back.
The Balance Disc can be used as a stand-alone balance tool or can be used with other FitPAWS equipment for more dynamic exercises.
To use the Balance Disc, simply have your pet stand on the disc with two paws and encourage them to shift their weight. This will engage their muscles and force them to balance. If your dog is smaller, they may be able to stand with all four paws on the Balance Disc (only do this if it does not cause your pets back to hunch). Increase or decrease the Intensity Level by changing the amount of air in the disc.
*User assumes the risk when using this product. AOC and FPW International LLC shall not be liable for any damages that result from the use of an inflatable product.

Yes. The Balance Disc is a great option for pets who are beginners with balance equipment. This rehab tool is stable enough that your pet won't strain themselves trying to stay on it but will work enough to keep themselves centered on the disc.
Your dog's nails must be trimmed before using the Balance Disc in order to reduce the chance of puncturing the equipment. If your dog's nails are too long or are sharp, then the nail may puncture the product when they jump onto or off of the equipment. This poses a risk to both you and your dog as the Balance Disc may deflate quickly and could scare and/or injure your dog. We recommend that you always trim your dog's nails before using the Balance Disc and assist your dog when mounting or dismounting the balance equipment.
FitPAWS products are perfect for helping get rid of a puppy's excess energy, while giving them a beneficial physical and mental ‘job’ by engaging them in new games, tricks, and behaviors. Many of the FitPAWS tools are low-impact and you can start training your puppy with them as early as 8 weeks, starting with 3–5 minute training sessions. Improving your puppy’s core strength, confidence, and body awareness puts them on track to living a longer, happier, and healthier life. A more active lifestyle strengthens your puppy to help prevent future injuries and benefits their overall well-being.
The Disc is great for balance training and muscle building. The stability of the disc can be changed depending on the amount of air you put in it. Less air creates a more unstable surface and a higher Intensity Level. More air creates a more stable surface and a lower Intensity Level. Your pet may need two Balance Discs to fit all four paws for a full body session.
The sensory nubs should not hurt your dog, though some dogs may not like the feeling of the nubs since it is a new sensation. They are made of the same flexible material as the rest of the product and will slightly compress when your dog stands on them. The sensory nubs aid in sensory input for your dog, meaning they help your dog feel what is under them more than they would with a smooth surface. They also help with paw grip when using balance products.
With proper care, this product should last 1-2 years. However, you should always check the equipment before and after each use to ensure there are no signs of excessive wear. Always replace the equipment if there are any signs of wear, if the product won't inflate, or if the product deflates during use.
