The Flexiness Sensimats by FitPAWS are special friction mats that are especially designed to improve paw grip, stability, and sensation on flat surfaces. These mats can be used in a variety of ways either as a stand-alone product or with other FitPAWS equipment to best serve your pets' recovery. Trainers often use these mats to improve foot awareness on flat surfaces, improve the dog position and ability to shift weight, and introduce dogs to the sensation of the nubs on other FitPAWS equipment, such as the K9FIT bones, balance discs, and TRAX donuts.

EXERCISE BASICS

Ensure your dog is healthy to begin exercise. Consult your canine health professional before beginning this or any exercise program.

Always check for proper body alignment while performing exercises. Watch to ensure back and neck are neutral. Front limbs and hind limbs should support weight safely. Avoid over extension of limbs, neck, and back.
- Perform an equal number of exercise repetitions on both sides of the body.
- Start slow and build up. 3-5 repetitions is adequate for dogs beginning an exercise program.
- Never over-exercise or over-tire your dog. Always watch for and listen to signs of tiredness or exhaustion.
- We recommend your dog use a safety harness, while exercising on the equipment.
Proprioception and neural Stimulation
Flexiness Sensimats can be used to improve foot awareness on flat surfaces that don't require balance, and introduce dogs to the sensation of the nubs on other FitPAWS equipment. Simply place the Sensimat on the floor and ask your dog to walk across the Sensimat. You can also ask your dog to sit or lay down on the Sensimat to switch up the sensation.
Increasing Paw Grip
The Sensimats are also often used with or on the Giant Rocker Board or Wobble Board to improve dog positioning and ability to shift their weight. These mats may also be used on platforms to define space for the dog.
